The first seminar "Analyzing the impact of Bulgaria and Romania accession in EU upon human trafficking from the perspective of shifting from origin / transit to destination countries" under the EU project "Development of trans-national mechanisms to fight against human trafficking in Romania and in Bulgaria" took place in Bucharest on June 6th, 2009. The seminar enjoyed a wide participation in terms of number - 41 participants - and in terms of diversity, i.e. students, parental organizations, authorities and NGOs from both countries. A quick glance in the evaluation forms shows that participants were met their expectations such as: getting new, updated information about HT and deeper knowledge, getting better understanding of more efficient ways to convey prevention messages further to their peers, how to deal with HT from human rights and child rights perspective,  possible solutions to reduce the HT risks and why communication and cooperation are so important in fighting against this crime. Besides, in order to facilitate the field work of the involved persons, several specific movies and other materials have beein provided to each participant.
It was the first 'face to face' meeting between the project partners and we hope it gives new energy and drive to the project. Look forward to the next project meeting in Ruse.
We thank everyone for participation and great contribution to the success of this first seminar!
