CHURCHES IN ROMANIA AND EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

‘ SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION AND SPIRITUAL MISSION’

Romania joined the European Union on January 1, 2007 and is now part of a European wide network. Partnership is one of the main European Union values and promotes working together on a pan-European level. This creates a wonderful opportunity to join hands nationwide.
Several Non-Government Organizations and Churches have decided to organize a conference on Churches in Romania and European Integration, an opportunity for ‘social transformation and spiritual mission’.
The conference aims to address common issues of the Churches in Romania dealing with spirituality, culture, poverty, welfare, migration and family values. It could also function as a platform for Churches and Faith-base Organizations to discuss common social action. Furthermore, the conference allows to strengthen the dialogue between church leaders across denominations and to facilitate networks between the different stakeholders. The participants will have the possibility to express their perspective regarding the impact of the European Integration upon the mission and responsibility of the Church.
